Synopsis for "The Beast!"
Henry McCoy has transformed himself into a beast-like, gray, furry form to stop a spy at the research company he's now working for, the Brand Corporation. He is shot by the spy, but his new form's regenerative powers heal him in seconds. As a security force shows up, Beast takes his leave, but hears the spy being shot dead.
When he reaches his office, he tries to reverse the mutation but hasn't realized how much time has passed. His form is permanent.
Then, Hank flashes back to his last day at the X-Mansion. Everybody wishes him well and he finds it hard to leave, but carries on the trip to his new life.
Now, we flash forward a bit to Hank's first day at his new company. He is introduced to Linda Donaldson who will be helping him with his research. Professor Carl Maddicks, a fellow researcher, complains that he does not need any help from Hank, but Mr. Grant, his boss, says that Hank will be working on his own projects. Hank falls in love with Linda over the next few weeks. Professor Maddicks gets upset one night and threatens Hank with the revelation that he, in fact, pulls the strings around there, no matter what Mr. Grant thinks.
Hank develops a genetic extractor and finds the hormone that is the chemical cause of mutation. It will, in effect, turn any man into a mutant for a carefully controlled period of time. On his way to tell Mr. Grant the news, he overhears Professor Maddicks talking to "Agent Nine" about Hank being close to finding something. He decides to turn into the Beast temporarily and see what he can find out at midnight, when the "operation" that Professor Maddicks talks about is on.
Beast then breaks into the meeting and fights Maddicks and some guards, but flees before Linda Donaldson, who we find out is Agent Nine, shoots Maddicks dead.
