Synopsis for "Turning Point"
Doctor Octopus is released from prison after serving his sentence, and Betty Brant is there to pick him up. Suspicious of Doctor Octopus' motives Spider-Man follows Betty as she drives him to Phildelphia where her brother Bennett Brant, is mixed up with the mob having worked for them as an attorney, but now owes money to Blackie Gaxton. Blackie has agreed to cancel the debt however, once he's been freed from prison by Doctor Octopus. Blackie is freed and Spider-Man gives chase. However in the midst of a scuffle, a shot is fired from Blackie Gaxton's gun and kills Bennett. Betty then blames Spider-Man for the death of her brother and is a large turning point in the relationship between Betty Brant and Peter Parker. Doctor Octopus escapes to fight another day...
