An Odin-bolt strikes Thor, Loki, Sif and Balder, who have traveled to earth against Odin's wishes, robbing them all of their powers. When Thor attempts to continue his battle with Loki, Loki changes the terms of the battle. Whoever regains their power first is the victor. Then Loki runs off.

Meanwhile, a wealthy elderly couple returns to their penthouse to find it has been looted by Dirk Garthwaite, a masked second story man who calls himself the Wrecker. The husband calls the police, who increase their manhunt for the Wrecker, who is hidden on a ledge near their search.

Thor, Sif and Balder retreat to Dr Blake's office to eat, while Loki rents a room nearby that just happens to overlook the ledge on which the Wrecker is hidden. As Loki summons the Queen of the Norns, asking for his power back, the Wrecker breaks into Loki's apartment and knocks Loki unconscious with a wrecking bar that is the Wrecker's favorite tool. He then puts on Loki's helmet. Appearing behind the Wrecker, the Norm Queen mistakens him for Loki, and grants him magical powers. Loki awakens, and the Wrecker uses his new powers to cause Loki to vanish.

Across town, Thor, Sif and Balder see a new flash showing the Wrecker rampaging through New York. Using the magical strength granted to him, he is using his wrecking bar to destroy buildings. When Thor and his companions arrive, the Wrecker uses his magic to cause Sif and Balder to vanish. Without his powers, Thor quickly finds himself being overpowered by the Wrecker and in danger of being killed.

Sif and Balder suddenly appear in Asgard next to Odin who is watching the battle below. When Balder tries to ask for help for Thor, Odin commands him to begone. Since Thor had erred, he must pay his penance. Odin refuses to intrude in the battle. leaving Thor powerless and helpless.

Synopsis for "And Finally...Black Bolt!"

As Black Bolt flies over the Great Refuge of Attilan, to the cheerings of the people, one of them turns the Historikon back to show the birth of Black Bolt

The chief geneticist Agon and his wife Rynda arrive to see the affect of the genetic altering Mist of their infant son. They discover that he can control electons, levitate objects and himself, produce a protective sheild, and a force blast. But then, growing tired the test, the infant begins to cry. The sound releases a force which destroys not only the la, but much of the city. Black Bolt only survives because he instinctively protected himself with a force field bubble. As Agon cuddles the child, he admits to fear for what future destruction his son's great powers could cause.
