Synopsis for "The Sinister Shadow of... Doomsday!"

The X-Men are in the Factor Three base in the Alps, but their captors have fled and the base is primed to explode! They barely escape in Factor Three flying saucers as the base explodes behind them. Elsewhere, Changeling and the Mutant Master have an argument, and then Mutant Master reveals the full scope of his plan: to start a nuclear exchange between the US and the USSR!

The X-Men return to the X-Mansion to plot their moves, then quickly use the flying saucers to split up. Warren, Hank, and Jean head to Eastern Europe, Scott and Bobby to a US missile base. The Eastern europe team fights their way past the soviet guards and run into Vanisher and Blob attempting to set a bomb to blow up a conference of high-ranking military officers. Iceman and Cyclops have similar luck in the US when they fail to convince the base's commanding officer that the Factor Three plot is real. They spring into action, and attempt to disable all the base's missiles. Back in Eastern Europe, our heroes manage to gas Vanisher and Blob, but then are apprehended by the soviet troops!

Synopsis for "A Man Called... X"

The first story in the origin of Cyclops. Scott Summers power reveals itself in public, and Professor X reads about it in the paper. He goes to the FBI to get in on the investigation, and persuades Fred Duncan to allow him to help with the investigation.
