History

The Warpies were children mutated by unstable dimensional energies released after the reality manipulations of Mad Jim Jaspers. Two Resources Control Executive (R.C.X.) agents, Michael and Gabriel, tried to hide the Warpies and forced Brian Braddock alias Captain Britain to take the Warpies into his home (Braddock Manor). They were then placed under the care of the Braddock Manor robot Mastermind. Other Warpies were found by the criminal James Lexington Christian alias Uncle Lex, who tought them as his "Parasites" to steal for him.

Most Warpies (including those who lived at the Braddock Manor) were eventually kidnapped by the R.C.X. (which was now lead by Nigel Orpington-Smythe alias Peter), as well as Michael and Gabriel (who had tried to prevent the Warpies being captured by Peter by hiding them at Braddock Manor in the first place). Peter used the powers of the Warpies to make the underground complex Cloud Nine. He then formed different Warpie teams for various purposes, including the Advocates and the Seraphim, as well as the already existing Cherubim.

But when many Warpies started to lose their super powers as a result of the change in Merlyn's Cosmic Convergence, Peter took the British super team Excalibur captived and told them they were suffered the same genetic defects as the Warpies did, in the hope that they would cure the Warpies as well as join his organization. But Excalibur learnt of his true plans and they eventually defeated him. Excalibur ally Alistaire Stuart took the lead of R.C.X. and took care of the Warpies.

The Warpies were years later abducted and mutated by Black Air and then used as weapons by the robot Mastermind, who tried to take control of Otherworld. But when the robot was eventually defeated by a newly formed Excalibur, Captain Britain was appointed Otherworld's new leader and he used his powers to cure all Warpies. The Warpies were now ordinary human children again.
