Cletus Kasady (Earth-194111)

Cletus Kasady was insanely avoiding the police and was planning on committing suicide through use of a powerful bomb. But Spider-man was able to throw it up into the sky. Kasady was then sent to an asylum, where his cell was next to Eddie Brock's. During the night, Kasady was witness to Mordo in astral projection form, promising Brock the alien symbiote in exchange for service to Dormammu. Kasady tried pleading with Mordo to take the job instead.

After Brock was reunited with the symbiote, becoming Venom once again, he fought against Spider-Man and War Machine. Dormammu planned to use the symbiote's offspring to merge with Kasady. Willingly, Kasady became one with the offspring, becoming Carnage. He destroys War Machine's cannon which was firing a sonic pulse. When he got to pummel Spider-Man, Venom didn't want his vengeance taken. As "father" and "son fight, Mordo appears to remind them of their promise to Dormammu. They stole an interdimensional transporter that Dormammu intended to use to come to earth. When they arrive at Mordo's lair, they begin fighting and then Venom runs off. Dormammu determines that Carnage will be sufficient enough. He has Carnage collect souls to replace him in the dimension he is currently in. But once his task was completed, Spider-Man, teamed up with Iron Man and Venom to stop Dormammu. They sent Dormammu back through the portal, but won't shut down because he maintained a link through carnage. So they did the same to the latter but Carnage snared Ashley, a psychiatrist who Brock fell in love with, so he won't go in alone. Eddie sacrificed himself to save her, trapping himself and Carnage in Dormammu's dimension.

Having merged with the symbiote, Carnage is capable of Spider-Man's abilities. He can also mold his hands into weapons. Thanks to the powers given to him by Mordo, he can suck souls.
